Your journey begins west of Tripoli with a scenic coastal drive to Sabratha, one of the three legendary Roman Tripolis cities. Here, you’ll walk among 2,000-year-old marble columns and stand before the magnificent three-tiered Roman theater, one of the largest and most breathtaking in Africa. Begin with a visit to the Red Castle Museum (Assaraya al-Hamra), home to thousands of artifacts spanning prehistoric to modern Libya. Then, lose yourself in the narrow lanes of the Old Medina, where the scents of spices, leather, and coffee fill the air, and traditional merchants welcome visitors with warm hospitality. Enjoy a traditional Libyan lunch overlooking the Mediterranean Corniche, followed by free time for shopping or café-hopping in the Italian Quarter.
